Opportunity Details

Weatherization Kit Building Party (age 16+) *Impact Week*

We believe that everyone deserves a safe, healthy, efficient home, regardless of income. Community Energy Project provides free home services focused on safety, health, and energy efficiency. We provide free community education and supplies, as well as direct home energy upgrades and repairs. All our services are made possible by partnerships with community members and service organizations, utilities, corporations, foundations, and government agencies.

Volunteers will start with a brief orientation to understand our mission and goals. Following this, they will assemble DIY weatherization kits designed to improve energy efficiency. These kits will be distributed to low-income households within the community, helping to enhance their comfort and reduce energy costs.

The office tends to run cool, so bring a layer if you get cold easily. Otherwise, bring a water bottle and wear comfortable shoes. Masks are optional, but please feel free to wear one.

DIRECTIONS & TRANSIT:

Parking lot between Laurelhurst Theater and the Old Trolley Building is free and available for all volunteers to park at on Saturdays. Bus stop directly in front of the office serve TriMet Bus #20 frequent service. Bikes can be parked inside our office space.
