Enhance Trails at Powell Butte Nature Park (age 14+) *Impact Week 2022*
Join Portland Parks & Recreation staff and community volunteers in completing important trail work projects on Powell Butte. No experience necessary! Youth participants must be at least age 14, and all volunteers aged 14-17 must have a parent or guardian sign our youth waiver forms (see below).
Wear sturdy close-toed shoes, long pants, and long-sleeved shirts. Bring rain gear and/or sun gear, a hat, a filled water bottle, and snacks. Bring gloves if you have a pair and prefer to use your own. Instruction, tools and gloves otherwise provided. You will be walking up to 5 miles away from the meeting location and restrooms, so please be ready to hike. Be sure to arrive on time, or you may miss the group.
COVID-19 Information:
Hands On appreciates your interest in volunteering to help our community in this time of extraordinary need. As part of some volunteer activities, you may risk exposure to COVID-19. If you or any member of your household is experiencing any symptom of COVID-19, or has exhibited any symptom in the past 14 days, please do not sign up for a volunteer activity at this time. Please contact the Opportunity Coordinator if you have any questions about Hands On’s COVID-19 safety rules and the expectations for volunteers.

Project Requirements:
-
All volunteers aged 14-17 are required to bring both a Hands On and a PP&R youth waiver form signed by their parent or legal guardian. You can find the forms here: Hands On Youth Volunteer Waiver Form and PP&R Youth Waiver Form. Please download, complete, and bring these waivers with you on the day of the project. If you have difficulty downloading the waivers, you and/or your parent or guardian may sign the waiver when you arrive on site. We apologize for the duplication of forms, but both forms MUST be filled out – thank you!
-
If you plan to bring children or guests you MUST reserve slots for them. The best way to do this is to create a Volunteer Team, then sign up your team for this project.
-
Due to the nature of trail work projects, volunteer numbers are limited to 15 for each event. Trail work events are very popular! So, we ask that if you are not able to attend, that you remove yourself promptly from the sign-up list. This allows other people the opportunity to participate if you are not able to. Thank you.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You are responsible for ensuring that everyone signed up through your team attends - only sign up team members who have confirmed their availability. Teams that repeatedly sign up, but do not show up or show up with fewer volunteers than they signed up, may be removed. To add or remove team members from a project, click on "My Account" and then "My Teams," above.
Click "Sign Up" below to reserve your spot! Need help signing up? Call 503-200-3355.
