Day of Service at the ReBuilding Center! (age 18+)*Impact Week 2022*
ReBuilding Center is a climate justice nonprofit organization. We make reuse and repair affordable for all, reduce waste and wasteful consumption, and make the best use of our planet’s limited material resources.
People donate their material they no longer need, and we sell that material at an affordable price. We also have an education workshop where classes are taught. We empower students to develop practical building and repair skills through a wide range of fun, hands-on classes.
Every year, we team up with the African American Alliance for Homeownership to perform critical home maintenance and repairs for up to 10 homeowners living with low incomes in North and Northeast Portland. Groups & individual volunteers are welcome! We generally take on projects like: carpentry, painting, small electrical (switch replacements, ceiling fan installation, etc), yard maintenance, fence mending/building, and minor plumbing repairs and fixture replacements. No experience in home repair or carpentry needed; but if you've got some skills, make them known! We are always seeking skilled tradespeople to lead our volunteer teams.
The event will take place outdoors so weather appropriate attire, close toed shoes, I would suggest wearing clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
Everyone will be meeting at rebuilding center and go to the location after a brief team introduction. 3625 North Mississippi Ave Portland Oregon 97227. Street parking is preferred.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older to attend this project.
