Cook at Home for Youth Experiencing Homelessness (age 0+) *Hands On*
Volunteers and friends of p:ear, we’d love your help preparing and donating food! We are serving plated meals to youth during our open drop-in hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10am - 2pm, and are seeking support to provide nourishment for the young people we serve. We invite you to make a dish to serve 25+ youth.
Some meals that p:ear youth have requested are as follows:
- Homemade mac-n-cheese
- Mashed potatoes and gravy with veggie side dishes
- Tacos, Enchilladas, Nachos
- Hamburgers and Hotdogs
- Stir Fry dishes
- Rice Curry dishes
- Pasta with various sauce options (spaghetti, alfredo, pesto, etc. )
... We try and provide vegan, veggie, and meat options for our young people. Please connect with p:ear Program Director, Tony Camacho Martinez to coordinate!
Please read all of the following information carefully before expressing interest.
Visit https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/1wgw6q to sign up to provide meals and/or baked goods for 25+ people on a day that works well for you. If you want to contribute in this way and are unable to provide the full 25 servings (50 servings for baked goods), get in touch with our Safe Space Coordinator, Tony.
Meals and baked good donations can be prepared at home, then dropped at our downtown location (338 NW 6th St). Please use: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/1wgw6q to sign up for a drop off day between Monday-Thursday from 8:00am-2:00pm, that works best for you.
Note: The sign ups on the Hands On calendar ARE NOT necessarily the date you will bring your meal. You MUST use: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/1wgw6q to sign up for a day and confirm your donation and drop-off plan with p:ear Program Director: Tony Camacho Martinez, before arriving at p:ear.

The strength of the p:ear community is mighty and essential to many of our lives. We remain committed to doing our very best to ensure that p:ear continues to be a compassionate, safe and reliable resource to our community during this challenging time. In response to recommendations by Governor Kate Brown and the CDC, we have adjusted our programs over the next few weeks to support the wellbeing of the whole p:ear community.
