Intercambio Training (age 18+) *MLK Weekend 2019*

Join us in honoring the legacy of Dr. King through meaningful service to our community: "Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve."
-- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Mission: The mission of Edúcate Ya is to facilitate multi-cultural exchange and address the integration challenges faced by Latinxs in Oregon through bilingual health, leadership, and education programs.

One of our most popular community programs is Intercambio de Lenguas, a program that matches Spanish speakers who need assistance with their English with other locals who would like to improve their Spanish.

Volunteers are trained to be ESL tutors and are matched with Spanish-speaking community members who want to improve their English. Ninty minutes of the class is dedicated to practicing English, the last 30 minutes is for Spanish. Intercambio is a great way to make new cross-cultural friendships and networks.

Join this MLK Weekend opportunity to be trained by one of Educate Ya's own on how to be an effective, responsive ally when working with diverse communities, both in terms of culture and languages.

**This training is for English Speaking Participants - no training is offered for the Spanish speaker, they are paired with the English speaker.
