SnowCap Community Garden Clean-up! (all ages) *MLK Weekend 2019*

Join us in honoring the legacy of Dr. King through meaningful service to our community: "Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve."
-- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

About:
SnowCap is a philanthropic organization, dedicated to providing food, clothing, advocacy and other services to the poor in East Multnomah County. Helping us clean and prepare our community garden, will allow our clients access to growing their own fruits and vegetables.

Project Description:
Help us clean up our Community Garden to get it ready for the new growing season. This includes: weeding, removal of yard/garden debris and any trash, pruning or cutting back plants and bushes, and hauling & spreading of cedar chips or rocks along paths and flower bed areas.

As a volunteer on this project, you will learn about SnowCap's community garden, how it positively affects our neighbors in East Multnomah County, as well as gardening basics.

Important Info:
This is a Community Garden Clean-up project, so volunteers should wear clothes that can get dirty, and possibly wet, if rain is in the forecast. We will be working outside in the community garden. Volunteers should also bring their own work gloves, bottled water, and if they have a special yard tool (shovel, rake, clippers, etc.) they are welcome to bring it along. If you have a wheelbarrow, please bring it! SnowCap has a small supply of work gloves and tools, but more are always welcome.
