Garden for Good at Timber Jim's Garden (all ages) *STW 2016*

We need your help at Timber Jim's Garden!

Timber Jim needs your help in expanding his community garden. Though Timber Jim will be in Tanzania helping to start a garden with the Red Sweater Project, he'll feel the love and support once he returns.

Volunteers will plant squash and sunflowers as well as create new beds and spruce up the grounds. Volunteers will also get to learn about how community gardens are feeding those in need.

This is a family-friendly project and volunteers of all ages are welcome! Join us for a fun and rewarding experience.

**Volunteers are encouraged to bring the following items that will be donated to the Tualatin Schoolhouse Pantry.. diapers, formula, toilet paper, laundry soap and napkins.

The mission of Tualatin Schoolhouse Pantry is to provide emergency food to qualified households in a welcoming environment. As a part of the Oregon Food Bank, we also share in their mission to eliminate hunger and its root causes because we believe that no one should go hungry. We operate with a volunteer staff that is dedicated to serving others.

Note: Volunteers age 1-15 may volunteer along with a responsible adult.
Volunteers age 16+ are welcome to volunteer on their own.

Project Requirements:

  • All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a Hands On Youth Waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian.  (print it now, fill it out, and bring it with you to save time during project check in).

  • If you plan to bring children/additional volunteers you MUST reserve slots for them. The best way to do this is to create a Volunteer Team, then sign up your team for this project. Questions? Email teams@handsonportland.org

IMPORTANT NOTE: You are responsible for ensuring that everyone signed up through your team attends - only sign up team members who have confirmed their availability. Teams that repeatedly sign up, but do not show up or show up with fewer volunteers than they signed up, may be removed. To add or remove team members from a project: log in to your volunteer account and click "Manage My Team" next to the appropriate upcoming opportunity.
