Friends of Errol Heights Restoration Planting (age 3+) *MLK 2016*

Hands On Managed projects offer you an opportunity to join a group of volunteers on a done-in-a-day project led by a Hands On Volunteer Leader

Join us in honoring the legacy of Dr. King through meaningful service to our community: "Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve."
-- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Join Portland Parks & Recreation, the Friends of Errol Heights, United Way/Hands on Portland and other community members to plant native trees and shrubs in this little gem of a neighborhood park and natural area in SE Portland. We will be restoring an area where a house formerly stood. Please wear long pants and long sleeves and sturdy shoes and bring rain gear, a sunhat and water bottle. Instruction, tools, gloves, coffee, water and KIND granola bars will be provided.

Errol Heights park comprises 14.28 acres in Brentwood Darlington Neighborhood in Southeast Portland. The park’s boundary is irregular in shape and includes the dell and lowland property along with former home sites on the bluff. The Woodstock and Ardenwald/Johnson Creek Neighborhoods are also adjacent to the south and west of the park. It is the largest park in the immediate area, which consists mainly of a mixture of light commercial, industrial and residential uses.

Additional Location Information:

Meet at: SE 45th & Tenino Dr. Park on SE 45th. Be aware not to block neighbor’s driveways.

Tri-met: Bus #75 (SE 45th & Tenino stop)
