Cleanup Lents with SOLVE and Green Lents (age 6+) *STW 2015*
Lend a hand in Lents!
Volunteers will come together with SOLVE and Green Lents to help kick-off the first ever public Work Party for Malden Court Community Orchard. Join us in clearing invasive plants, picking up litter, and transforming an underutilized lot into a community orchard for all to enjoy.
Work Party Projects will include; clearing invasive Blackberries from the community orchard site, cleaning litter and debris from the site and surrounding area along the Springwater Trail, forming the main arterial pathways of the community orchard and spreading mulch into pathways and compost into orchard beds.
SOLVE brings Oregonians together to improve the environment and build a legacy of stewardship. SOLVE supports over 1,000 volunteer events across the state each year involving over 35,000 volunteers in the improvement of parks, neighborhoods, and natural areas.
Green Lents is an all-volunteer run non-profit with a mission to provide education, volunteer and leadership opportunities in and around the Lents neighborhood to promote a thriving, sustainable community.
Volunteers should wear closed toed shoes and long pants. All tools will be provided, but please bring a water bottle if necessary.
Note: Volunteers ages 6-16 may volunteer along with a responsible adult.
Project Requirements:

All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a Hands On Youth Waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian. (print it now, fill it out, and bring it with you to save time during project check in).

If you plan to bring children/additional volunteers you MUST reserve slots for them. The best way to do this is to create a Volunteer Team, then sign up your team for this project. Questions? Email teams@handsonportland.org
IMPORTANT NOTE: You are responsible for ensuring that everyone signed up through your team attends - only sign up team members who have confirmed their availability. Teams that repeatedly sign up, but do not show up or show up with fewer volunteers than they signed up, may be removed.
