Be the change. Volunteer.
Beaverton's Giving Gardens

Agency: Tualatin Valley Gleaners

Description:

Add meaning to your Saturdays. Get off the couch, forget about the mall and come out and join our group of garden crazy volunteers, experience not required. If working outside, breathing fresh air and getting a little sun while growing fresh, organic vegetables for families sounds good to you, then we would love to have you come out and volunteer with us.

We are volunteering in the City of Beaverton’s Giving Gardens. All food grown will be donated to Tualatin Valley Gleaners, Sunshine Pantry and St. Matthews Food Pantry,

Beginning May 8th, our Saturday volunteer garden sessions will be at Beaverton’s Kennedy Community Gardens, located at 103rd and Kennedy Streets behind Target, our volunteer opportunities will start at 9:30am until 11:30am. We will be laying down paths, raking, planting vegetables and flowers, weeding and harvesting. Please bring a small hand tool (if you have one), gloves and some water. The field does not have bathroom facilities, but we are able to use the facilities at retail stores located near by. Looking to volunteer more than the two hour shift? On Saturdays volunteers are welcome to stay until noon to finish up the work. This is a family friendly volunteer opportunity, so please feel free to bring the kids along for some great family fun.

Join a group of volunteers on a done-in-a-day project led by a Hands On Greater Portland volunteer leader. No advance training or ongoing commitment required, so sign up and participate in a project that fits your schedule. Need help signing up? Call 503-200-3355.
