Join the No Ivy League at Marshall Park (age 6+) *STW 2012*
Join us in our annual effort to halt an aggressive, alien invader... English Ivy! This plant is responsible for smothering innocent native plants, recklessly eroding slopes, and decreasing the overall biodiversity in our treasured ecosystem. Roll up your sleeves and help protect our parks!
Wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and be ready to get dirty! Tools, work gloves, and guidance provided.
Also, there will be a celebration and free lunch for all volunteers at Lower Macleay Park from 12:30pm-2:00pm. Please join us!
The Natural Resources Program of Portland Parks and Recreation focuses on maintaining the natural resources within the network of parks located in Portland. There are volunteer opportunities that support the natural habitat and sustainability in each park and it takes a community effort to maintain Portland's wonderful parks system. Join us as a volunteer and maintain our shared natural spaces!
Note: Volunteers age 6-12 may volunteer along with a responsible adult.
Volunteers age 13+ are welcome to volunteer on their own.
