Hands On Greater Portland's Accomplishments

From July 1, 2005 to June 30, 2006, Hands On Greater Portland:

• Made 13,412 volunteers connections, an increase of 25% over 2004/2005

• Made 5,993 connections by creating volunteer projects, a 28% increase over the previous year

• Created 929 separate volunteer projects, a 45% increase

• Connected volunteers with 215 partner organizations

• Engaged 93 Volunteer Leaders

• Mobilized 1,210 volunteers during the October 7 Comcast Cares /  Hands On Portland Serve-a-thon

• Connected 3,490 volunteers through BusinessCares consultation with employers, representing a 250% increase over the previous year

Beyond the numbers. The impact of Hands On Greater Portland’s work:

• 85% of volunteers said that participating in a Hands On Project increased their belief that they have the ability to make a difference in the community

• 90% of volunteer gained new information or perspective about issues that shape our community

• 95% of TeamWorks participants understand the possible solutions to the social, economic and environmental issues facing the Portland area, as compared to 26% before they joined the program
